Volleyball fundraises for breast cancer during Dig Pink rally
With matching pink socks and pink ribbons in their hair, the SPA volleyball teams set out to raise money for breast cancer as they played Minnehaha Academy on Oct. 5. They ended up raising $3337.10, the most they have ever raised, and it will be donated towards breast cancer research. The varsity volleyball team won in three sets.
The Dig Pink ® Rally is run by The Side-Out Foundation, and SPA takes part in this event every year during October, which is national breast cancer awareness month. The team sold a variety of tee shirts during lunch periods throughout the week, and at the rally itself there were raffle tickets and cookies that could be bought.
