The Girls Varsity volleyball team hosted Academy of Holy Angels for their Dig Pink game on Oct. 17. “It’s an amazing event because volleyball teams all over the country do [Dig Pink], and we are able to raise a ton of money and support a great cause,” senior volleyball captain Emily Dieperink said.

On Oct. 17, the Girls Varsity Volleyball team hosted their annual Dig Pink event during their game against Academy of Holy Angels. GVV fell 0 sets to 3 against AHA in a hard fought game. Dig Pink is an event with the goal of raising money for the fight against breast cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness month. The team sold Dig Pink t-shirts during lunch periods, and during the game parents sold shirts and refreshments to raise money for the cause. Admission to the game was free, but donations were accepted. GVV raised $2400, but minus the cost of the t-shirts they sold, they had $1300 to donate.

“It’s an amazing event because volleyball teams all over the country do [Dig Pink], and we are able to raise a ton of money and support a great cause. It’s also just a really fun event,” senior volleyball captain Emily Dieperink said.
