Upper School Council hosted their annual Red Cross Blood Drive on Feb. 22. The drive was held from 8:15 am to the end of the school day in the small gym of the Upper School. This year, 35 people showed up to the blood drive.

“I was really proud of all the work that USC put into the Blood Drive. It was really successful,” USC co-president Numi Katz said.

USC advertised the blood drive throughout the past month with announcements in the blue sheet. There was also a speaker who came in to talk about the blood drive and what happened to the blood after it was donated.

This year at the drive, USC was able to procure 25 units of blood for the Red Cross. Given the average person needs blood takes 4 units this could help 8 people who need blood.

“I donated blood for the first time this year and it made me feel like I made a difference,” senior Maya Shrestha said.
