GAME FACE. Clare Ryan-Bradley fights for a ball in a one-on-one, pushing towards goal. Ryan-Bradley was able to beat both the defender and the keeper to the ball, poking it past into the back of the net, giving the Spartans a 1-0 lead. This goal put the Spartans up early in their first chance of the game, a near perfect mirror of the beginning of the section semifinal.
In the Section 3A final, GVS clinched their ticket to state in a 1-0 win against Visitation. With this, the team has won all three of its off yet another win in this sectional tournament, this time dominating their opponent 1-0. GVS dominated from the very beginning, with junior Clare Ryan-Bradley netting yet another early goal for the Spartans. After celebrating their moment in the spotlight, the Spartans are ready to move on to the state tournament where they will have to push past an even higher level of competition in order to be crowned state champs once more.
The Spartans play next on Oct. 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the quarterfinal game at Lakeville High School.
