The year of 2024 featured many memorable moments from an all school phone ban to the presidential election.

1) Debate team heads to nationals after state tournament

Zimo Xie covers the Spartans performance at the state debate tournament which ended in a semi-finals defeat for the duo of David Schumacher and Henry Choi.

2) As Biden drops from presidential campaign, all eyes turn to Harris

In a surprise, President Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race on July 21. Senior Aarushi Bahadur reports on Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign journey.

3) Dayton hosts postcard writing event to encourage voter participation

Greyson Sale reports on Junior Echo Dayton’s experience writing postcards through the organization Postcards to Swing States. Dayton and 15 other students used these postcards to encourage citizens to vote in the elections.

Juan Miguel Adams details SPA chess club’s successful competitive mindset at the beginning of the season. They ended the season in 5th place out of 32 teams in Minnesota.
