Stillwater Ice Castles attract people of all ages
The Stillwater Ice Castles are a great place to bring family or friends for an enjoyable winter activity. The project takes over 25,000 tons of ice to create and 10,000 icicles are used everyday during the “growing phase.” The Taste of Love Bakery serves warm treats to guests as they enjoy the ice and fire dancers perform Friday and Saturday nights. The best time to visit is at night when the lights inside are on, making the ice glow and shift colors. This is also a great photography and star viewing destination. Constellation viewing times provide high-tech telescopes and are hosted by expert meteorologist Mike Lynch to teach visitors about the different constellations. Online tickets are $9.95 for adults and $6.95 for children (ages 4-11); at the door tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children. Prices are a bit more expensive on weekends but the beautiful displays are worth the cost. The castles will stay open to the public as long as the weather is cold enough in Stillwater.
