CUTE MEETS COMFORT. Junior Paloma Gomez-Whitney dons new jeans and a well-loved white tank top. But the star of the show are Gomez-Whitney's nails. "I did get these for the first day of school. These were actually what I put the most effort into for my outfit."

BEHIND THE PLATE. Catcher Griffin Schwab-Mahoney snatches the ball mid-air. Schwab-Mahoney, a returning captain said that to achieve his goals, he tries to lead by example. It's important the players are "staying motivated during practices, working hard and when it comes to be game time, really locking it in, instead of messing around in the dugout," he said. When faced with adversity, he tries to keep himself and the team motivated about baseball, even though keeping mental morale can get boring sometimes.

NELLIE LARSON, 10. "I'm going to South Caicos because my mom grew up there and we're going to visit family. School is stressful...and it's good to have a break in the middle of the year, especially when we're in a high pressure school.

CAT MULLEN, FACULTY. "Usually taking a break means just like leaving my laptop at school, not checking my email just a time to step away and feel refreshed and not feel pressured to do any work or anything. This break is a little unusual. Usually I go on vacation or just stay at home and have some downtime, but I'm actually working all over break. Most of my family lives in Minnesota, so when I do a vacation it's either to visit friends or I have like a really good friend who's my travel buddy, and we plan something. Next year we plan to do a big vacation like Turkey, Greece, so the spring break is more chill."
