[SPOTIFY PLAYLIST] Trojans get energized with popular, throwback songs
After a great season, Trojan Swim and Dive season is ending. While this success can mainly be accredited to the hard work of the players, this warm-up playlist helped keep them motivated and energized.
Captain Pah Na said, “I queue this one song called Samba de Orly first every time, it sounds so nice echoing in the pool. Then I queue songs from my car rides playlist because most of them are upbeat and so that will keep the energy in the pool”
The playlist uses many classic songs like “Pompeii” by Bastille and “Trumpets” by Jason Derulo to get everyone hype and singing along. This playlist also uses popular artists like Drake, The Weeknd, and Tyler the Creator to have songs that are recognizable and that everyone loves.
The playlist reaches across genres which makes it very unique. It contains classic hip hop songs such as “Bound 2” by Kanye West and “679” by Fetty Wap featuring Monty. It also has pop songs such as “Confident” by Justin Beiber and Chance the Rapper, and “Drugs” by Tai Verdes. The use of different genres means that there is music for everyone’s unique music taste.
What I love about the playlist is its use of retro songs that gives everyone nostalgia. Songs such as “Everybody Talks ” by Neon Trees, and “Riptide” by Vance Joy. These songs bring the vibe with them and get everyone hyped and ready.
“Another good song is swimming pools but I like the version by Lloyd.” said Na.
While the title is ironic, this song, when playing in the pool, echoes around creating a cool effect. This playlist is the perfect balance of energetic, retro, and fun songs to help motivate players to compete at their best. While it may be a little long, there is always a good song that will get everyone pumped and singing along.
