Midway through a hard fought season, Girls Varsity Basketball sit with a 2-10 record after a close loss 28-29 to Providence Academy. Their warm up playlist helps keep them motivated and hardworking throughout the season, and pumped before every game.

Captain Naomi Straub said, “I think that this playlist helps the team get ready for the game because there is a variety of songs and it helps us get our mindset ready for the game.”

The playlist starts off right, with Icon by Jaden Smith, a song full of energy and a high tempo beat to get everybody jumping. While the playlist is only 7 songs, each have their own vibe or energy that come together to make it a great playlist.

It features other famous artists such as Drake, Meek Mill and J. Cole to get everybody singing along. Straub went on to say, “Also there are some songs on the playlist that have been on there every year and so it brings back memories of past seasons.” It is a tradition for GVB to keep some songs, so that there is consistency, but also so that the playlist holds sentimental value.

Girls Basketball takes on Saint Agnes at home on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
