[SPA THINKS] How has your life changed in the past six months?
Jenny Ries, The Rubicon
A lot can happen in the span of six months to shape an individual in a significant way. In the sixth month of the 2019-2020 school year, five students shared experiences that have shaped them in some way in the past six months, both in and out of school.
Getting injured
"One thing that shaped me was, I think, actually in the past couple of months. I've run my whole life, and sustaining a serious injury for the first time was kind of something that I've just had to deal with, and I don't really have a mechanism, because a lot of the times, my mechanism for dealing [with] things is running. Asking for help

Sophomore Nathan Mann has recently started meeting with Upper School Math Teacher Dan O'Loughlin. “So this was like a month ago: the unit in math was getting on its way, and I was not understanding much at all. And it'll probably be my last year of hockey, so I think I ended on a really good note … I used to play girls hockey, and it's just differ...
New classes: playwriting

I loved it so much. And I never thought that I would like playwriting, because I ...
New directions
Senior Nina Smetana: Directing a one-act “That was a totally amazing experience. I got to learn what it was like to be on the other side of the theater community, I guess. Instead of being an actor, instead of following, I became a leader. And honestly, it was one of the most exhausting things I've ever had to do… but also probably the most rewarding, because, I can't tell you, like sitting t...
