Science Olympiad takes third at regionals, advances to State

The Science Olympiad team won third at Reigonals and will advance to State

The St. Paul Academy and Summit School Science Olympiad team went down to Eastview High School on Feb. 3 to compete in the Regional Championship against nine other schools. The competition consists of three rounds in the morning with different competitions for each round. Some competitions include written tests with topics like Dynamic Planet and Herpetology, along with building rounds like Tower and Hovercraft.

The Varsity team finished with two first place winners in Material Science and Microbe mission and three second place winners. The team averaged a fourth place finish per event throughout the entire day and especially excelled in the written test events. The state competition will be held March 3 at Bethel University.
