Science Olympiad dominates at regional competition

Science Olympiad competed at the regional competition Feb. 1 at Mounds View High School against the ten schools in our region. The Spartans earned fourth place, bringing home a team trophy, along with 10 top four placements for varsity and three for JV, with the Optics team taking first in their contest. The day was filled with activity:
According to coach Colton Werner, normally only the top half advance to State. However this year every participating school advanced to the State competition, which will take place at Bethel University on Mar. 2.
Mariam Malik (she/her) is a parking garage warrior. This summer, she braved the U of MN lot in the name of scientific research, dodging automobiles left and right in her pursuit of knowledge.
