Many Minnesotans will now be able to taste Dunkin’s infamous fresh donuts and smooth coffee because of the accessible location.

As a high school filled with sleep-deprived students, the news of a new coffee shop definitely spread like wildfire. Not only was the opening of any coffee shop, it was of a Dunkin’ Donuts; the land of perfectly roasted coffee and tasty donuts. With this being one of the few Dunkin’ locations in the Twin Cities, many Minnesotans wishing to taste Dunkin’s coffee or pastries finally have the option to. One of the only options had been in the airport, making Dunkin’s pastries inaccessible to most. While it’s very doubtful whether anyone is devoted enough to go to the airport just for fast food, except probably Harold and Kumar, the airport might have been the only time some Minnesotans had ever interacted with Dunkin’ before. Luckily, with this location opening on Snelling, donuts and coffee will now be easily accessible to SPA students before or after-school.

Some people may be thinking: what is the big news about a new coffee shop? Isn’t this the same as the opening of any other chain? It’s understandable for some Minnesotans to be confused about the hype; Dunkin’ Donuts disappeared entirely from Minnesota in the mid-2000s, with the last shop closing in 2005. Some people may not have ever had their coffee. However, there are many reasons as to why drinking Dunkin’ is superior to other coffee chains. First of all, you don’t have to mortgage your firstborn child for a cup of coffee. The prices are completely reasonable. Second of all, they don’t roast their coffee beans to a crisp. While many popular coffee chains burn their coffee beans far past what is reasonable, like Starbucks, Dunkin’ is known for their crisp and fresh taste. Finally, their pastries are fresh and made daily.

There are now 16 Dunkin’ shops across Minnesota, 10 of them in the Twin Cities metro. The next Dunkin’ shop will be in the MOA, and it’s said to open sometime in 2020.
