Classes began at the Randolph campus today for Middle and Upper school students. Come along hour by hour to see what students were up to on the first day of the semester.
7-8 a.m.
SUNRISE SINGERS. Choir director Tim Kraack hands out this semesters sheet music to the Summit Singers students.
8-9 a.m.
LAST FIRST DAY. Emily Weinstock-Collin's senior advisory took their first day of school picture in the first fifteen minutes of the school day.
9-10 a.m.
NO MORE BEANBAGS. The library got a new layout, and the beanbags here last year is now replaced with "new books" section.
10-11 a.m.
BIENVENIDOS. Upper School Spanish teacher Christine Piñero kicks off the school year with pair discussions in her Advanced Spanish class. Students discussed the stories behind their names using Spanish vocabulary while sitting at a Harkness table for the first time since pre-COVID times.
11 a.m.-12 p.m.
SUMMER DEBRIEF. Sophmores Sophia Donahue and Shefali Meagher argue about movies watched over the summer. "21st Century Girl was worth crying over," Donahue said. The pair will have a lot to catch up on at lunch over the next couple weeks.
12-1 p.m.
NEW YEAR NEW US. Annie Bai and Amalia Laguna walk past the blank college counseling board. The board brimmed with personality in the spring. Now, bare of colorful posters and college pennants, it begs to be filled for the new year.
1-2 p.m.
SCHOOL IN STYLE. Varsity volleyball captain Nadia Degnan dressed formal for her first day of school, according to theme. Degnan's first game of the season in tonight at 7 p.m. against South Saint Paul at SPA.
2-3 p.m.
NAME ART. Junior Will Fenlon, senior Griffin Schwab-Mahoney, freshman Gus Hembre kick off the their first art class of the year by crafting name tags showcasing their names and pronouns. Schwab-Mahoney in looking forward to this class first semester. "Shout out Ms. LG," he said.
