Magical things happen in threes. Lower school. Middle school. Upper school. And on Tuesday, all three schools came together for the third ever K-12 Assembly. It opened with Head of School Luis Ottley followed by a script that included student leadership from every division.
Before the event, junior Ben Lee said, “I’m really excited for the upcoming classes to come and have fun at the assembly.”
First, it was the Upper School Council presidents Cerena Karmaliani and Annie Zhang sharing how they’ve experienced the welcoming community and their hopes for everyone to feel that welcome. Lower School principal Beth Nelson grabbed a seat and a guitar while the principal’s council led the crowd in the song “Stand up.” Middle school eighth graders screamed into the microphone to welcome Spartan Josh Holloway who led the crowd in the Spartan Beat. After the bead ceremony, where seniors give blue and gold bead necklaces to kindergarteners, everyone returned to classes.
