After record cold days across Minnesota and the Midwest, a 100-degree difference is still possible. At the Como Park Conservatory, the gardens are kept at a balmy 70 degrees.
In addition to the heat, the sunken garden room has the heat cranked up to 80 degrees where visitors can smell the Pansies, Azaleas, Cyclamen, and Cineraria flowers.
Studies suggest that when humans are surrounded by plants, especially in the midst of a harsh winter spell, the environment or plants themselves relieve stress.
