PHOTO GALLERY: Cinco de Mayo festivities engage community
Mexican music, students twirling and food dwindling. Students gathered in Lily Courtyard to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, just as they did last year. Hosted by BBG, Latinos Unidos and Intercultural club, the festivities, including a pinata, serve to promote awareness about Mexican culture that most students may be unfamiliar with.
“We wanted to celebrate our culture again. First what we want to share today is our culture and the happy parts of it. I think once we share that we can share the harder parts of our culture. What I think the most important is the partying and all the positive parts of the culture,” junior and Latinos Unidos member Eva Garcia said.
