Exams begin today, but with protocols in place that encourage students who are ill to stay home. The biggest concern? Students with Influenza A will come to their exams in spite of a contagious window of 5-7 days.
The school encourages students to prioritize their health by resting at home. If they are contagious but feeling well, those who are ill should work on non-seated exam midterms (like papers and projects) at home.
In a note sent to families this morning, Academic Dean Tom Anderson wrote that “the faculty is prepared for the disruption that this is causing and that no students who are ill will be penalized for late work.”
In addition to the make-up exam day on Dec. 20, the administration is looking at a possible second make-up day on Jan. 6.
