The Girls the softball team has been of to a rocky start due to adverse weather and a lack of returning players. The season opener that was supposed be against Oreno was canceled due to heavy rainfalls. The weather later forced the team to practice indoors which reduced the number of drills that could be done. Manager of the team, Mia Litman has been frustrated with how the season has been going so far, “I’m upset with how the Season has started because I love the softball season but it has been postponed a lot which means the schedule is going to be more packed.”

To compensate for the rough start, Mia Litman has been putting her best effort forward to boost team morale. She has been preparing activities and team events in order to help build team chemistry before the season really begins.

“I hope that by planning events and activities the team will grow closer together and lead to a more successful season. One activity that I planned out was for the seniors go out to dinner with each other to discuss their roles on the team as leaders and what they should be doing. I think this helps define the positions of people on the team and makes stronger bonds for the softball team,” said senior Mia Litman.

“I’m sad that season has not been off to a great start this year as it is my final high school softball season, but I am thankful for the work our manager [Litman] has been putting in. I can really sense that we’re gonna have a great season after this rocky start,” said senior Ellie Nowakowski

The girl’s softball team has had one game that unfortunately ended in a loss against north lakes academy. They return to the field on Monday the 29th at 3:30 to face Mounds Park Academy.
