Mano a Mano
Mano a Mano, or hand to hand, is a St. Paul-based organization dedicated to providing medical and school supplies to Bolivia. In 1994, Segundo and John Velasquez noticed that hospitals and clinics in Minnesota were discarding hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of medical supplies for which they had no use. Mano a Mano began collecting medical surplus and shipping them to health care providers in Bolivia.
Volunteers can visit the warehouse in St. Paul and spend time loading shipping containers and organizing supplies.
“Our main focus is to send medical supplies, but we also help build roads, schools and hospitals for people in the community,” representative Tanya Little said.
