Many people who saw the spring musical, Les Miserables, were very impressed with it, and so was the Spotlight Showcase. They select some of the best theater work from high schools around the state to perform at the Orpheum in a spring showcase. This year the cast of Les Miserables won 14 awards including individual awards.

“I’m excited to perform at the showcase because it is a such a big honor for the SPA theater community,”freshman Sawyer Johnson said. This is a huge honor for the cast of Les Mis and this is the first year they received an Outstanding award. The past two years they have received an Honorable Mention for the musical.

“I think we deserve it. We’ve been working on this show since February,” sophomore Tess Hick said. Hick performed as part of the ensamble cast.   The cast will perform on the Orpheum stage on June 13 in Downtown Minneapolis along with 40 other schools.
