Huss Center opens as construction finishes
After 13 months of construction, the Huss Center for Performing Arts opened for exploration. The new building features an auditorium with 650 seats, a new common room, and space for a set design class. Students will be able to use the center once school begins, and the Welcome Assembly will take place in the auditorium on Sep. 1.
With the new auditorium, concerts will no longer be held at O’Shaughnessy Auditorium at St. Catherine University.
“It’s really exciting to think that now all we have to do is cross the courtyard,” choir teacher Anne Klus said.
In addition to concerts, senior speeches and assemblies will now be held in the auditorium instead of the Briggs Gymnasium.
The Gala Opening for the Huss Center will be held on Oct. 10.
