The Girls Basketball Team won their first section game in five years on Feb. 28. It was a close game against the Twin Cities Academy Tigers, where they won 49-43. For most of the game, Spartans were ahead, but before a burst of 6 points during the last two minutes, they were lagging two or three points behind the Tigers. Sophomore Aman Rahman, who is the manager of the team, was grateful for the excitement that filled the gym: “Halfway during the game, the [Boys Basketball Team] came and cheered really loud. It was fun.”
This is the furthest the girls have gone in five years, so this is a great accomplishment.
Their next game is away at Minnehaha Academy on Mar. 2 at 7:00 p.m.
