They walked dogs together because the dogs were friends, and the two arranged a time to walk dogs together. “It was medium awkward, but I feel like that’s the standard and it was fun because the dogs were friends.”

They went swimming at their house and went then thrifted together at Goodwill. Lastly, the pair ate ice cream together. “It was strawberry ice cream.”

Last summer, the two decided to watched a movie together in the evening at the Roseville theater and got to know each other over dinner at a small restaurant. “It was low-key, because it was more like just getting to know each other.”

“I’m not someone who’s really done many things like going out to dinner, going out to wherever, sort of things. I like to spend a lot of my time with the people I enjoy being around just at home.”
“We binged watched the entire show of ‘Smiling Friends’ in one day, and then went on walk with his little sister.”

After four hours of mini golf and arcade games, the two people hung out for a bit longer in Can Can Wonderland and talked about their interests.“I think it went pretty fast, but it was fun because we’re both pretty competitive, so that was good.”

The two hung out at one of their houses and then went to get tacos at Centro Restaurant. Then, as they were walking back home in the evening, they found a nearby park and stopped by to watch stars.“We went to the park after and then we looked at the stars, and he showed me the constellations.” After four hours, the two returned home after the date.

During last spring break, the two hung out at a small bakery called Isles Bun & Coffee for three hours while getting to know each other better. “The bakery is really well known for their cinnamon buns and stuff. It was chill and a lot of people were there, it was a busy area.”

A classic dinner and movie date night. After getting invited out to eat sushi at Crave, the two went to the Rosedale AMC movie theater to watch a movie together after dinner for a date night. “That was my first time getting dressed up and getting picked up and then going out and spending the evening with someone.”

They watched Zombies on Disney plus together. “It was my birthday, and we kind of just hung out in my basement watching a movie, and my siblings were out there, and then my cousins came over later that day, and then we went out to go have fun with all my cousins.”

Both of them were both on the same sports team and have chatted throughout the season. After a sports meet, they decided to go out to Sencha to get boba and get to know each other better. “It was great. We just went out for boba. And literally, I forgot that I had to go. We just talked for the entirety of the two hours. We didn’t order boba until an hour in.”

Both people liked vintage and antique stores and decided to go thrifting for their first date at the Mall of St. Paul. “There’s just a ton of stuff in there. I got a vintage magazine. What did you get?”
“Well, I bought you the magazine, and then I got a little pumpkin teapot. And then I got a miniature, kind of milk carton toy thing.”
“Any, like, weird trinket, or whatever you can think of, it’s probably in there.”

These two have been friends throughout high school and were both on the fencing team. Towards the end of the season, they decided to go watch a movie together at the Mall of America movie theater after practice. “It was so cold after, and we’re running to the movie theater, and it was just so cold out.”
“[When he asked me to hang out], I was like, ‘Well, okay, sure’, but you think about it, you know, like when you’re in bed at night and you’re like, ‘a normal person, a person who doesn’t like you, doesn’t ask you to do this.’ You’re like, maybe there’s something here.”

Their first date was when they were 11. They described it as a “double date in a friend’s neighborhood”, and the group of four middle schoolers went trick-or-treating out together for three hours in the evening. “We were 11, and we walked, just the four of us, around their neighborhood for a really long time, […] and the other, like couple, kept chasing us and being really weird, as sixth graders often are.”

The couple decided to go out to eat at Rojo Mexican Grill for lunch and got tacos together. Afterwards, they went to Icon Theaters to watch American Fiction. “The movie is really funny and the lunch [at Rojo Mexican Grill] was pretty good.”

The two got dinner together beforehand in Highland and then headed to his school to watch a play put on by their school’s theater crew. Afterwards, they got ice cream together. “Beforehand, he was too nervous so he didn’t eat anything and he was shaking the whole time and it was really cute.”
