Far Cry Primal engages players and revives Far Cry franchise
Far Cry Primal is a bow shooting, animal taming, action packed video game full of adventure. This game is a spin off from Ubisoft’s original four Far Cry games. This game is targeted to a mature audience and its rating (M for mature) shows it. The release dates were Feb. 23, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it was released on March 1st 2016 for PC. Those are the only platforms the game is available on at the moment. The setting of this game is in 10,000 BCE when there was almost no human technology. The game is set in the land of Oros. This game has top of the line graphics along with an interesting and engaging story line. In Primal you can be the leader of your own tribe that you must craft weapons and protect. There is also a day and night cycle which really affects how you play the game because other tribes will become more hostile at night and try to take out your tribe. The game is different from other games in the franchise because they took away modern warfare and vehicles. Ubisoft also added more melee weapons like spears and the only long range weapon is a bow.
This is one of the best games in the franchise. Far Cry 4 was lower on the ladder than most of the other games in the Far Cry series, but Primal is a revival of the franchise. Out of every game in the franchise, Primal is the best do to the interaction with animals, the setting of the game, and the engaging story line.
Rating: 4.5/5

The language nerd in me is highly impressed that they had linguists recreate a Proto Indo-European language with different dialects for each of the tribes. That is some top-notch attention to detail when world-building. https://www.xfire.com/ said Primal was such a great departure from the mainstream FPS’s and the only thing we wish they would have implemented was more survival (hunger, thirst, stamina, etc.) and crafting (temporary shelters, campfires, etc.) out in the wilderness. Thanks
