Cold weather blows in riding boots trend

Sophomores Lexi Bottern, Lexi Hilton, Gita Raman, and Navodhya Samarakoon all wore riding boots over leggings or jeans. “They’re comfortable and flattering,” junior Eva Zaydman said.

As winter slowly creeps in, students replace their flip flops and sandals with warm, sturdy winter footwear. The usual winter boot has been replaced, this year, by tall riding boots, usually for the shoes’ versatility, probably the most important aspect of school wear.

“They’re comfortable and flattering,” junior Eva Zaydman said. Riding boots are perfect for pulling off winter dresses, with the addition of patterned tights, another popular trend. Most students, however, wear riding boots with jeans or leggings and a sweater. For a more formal edge, a common trick is to tuck a blouse into jeans with riding boots and add a statement necklace.
