Chinese New Year celebration hosted by Intercultural Club
Students that walked into the portable classrooms this past Wednesday were able to catch the savory scent of something cooking. If they followed their noses, it would have led them into the Chinese classroom where Intercultural Club celebrated the 6th day of the Chinese New Year.
There was music, candy, calligraphy, dumplings, and hot pot, all put together by Intercultural Club and upper school Chinese teacher Tian Wang.
The festivities lasted the entirety of X-Period and was very popular among students who wished to get a taste of how the Chinese New Year is traditionally celebrated.
“My favorite part of celebrating the Chinese New Year is getting those red envelopes filled with money,” said 9th grader Gabe Ramirez.
