[PHOTO STORY] Boys Tennis falls 0-7 against rivals Blake
The Boys Varsity Tennis team played Blake for their second match of the season. The Spartans fought hard throughout the matches, but suffered a tough 7-0 loss. While this was a hard loss at the start of the season, Blake are a tough competition and the spartans gave it their all.
To start the match, they went hand in hand with Blake trading points, but Blake pulled away getting a separable lead over the spartans. Junior Isaih Eby said, “We had no expectations going into the match but we fought hard and I think it will make us better for the rest of the season.”
The team will learn from their sound loss to help them in their next match, and the season as a whole. Junior Harry Mahmic said, “It was a rough match but even though we are a young team, we can still play and compete against teams that are older and more experienced.”
While Blake is a 2A school, SPA still gave them a run for their money as the underdogs, which will give them a valuable experience for the rest of the season. “We will learn from this loss, and use the experience to accomplish as much as possible this season,” said Freshman Maik Nguyen.
The team faces Providence Academy on Monday, May 3rd, at 4:00pm at Providence Academy.
