Boys Soccer dominates Roosevelt 9-0 on senior night
September 28, 2016
The Boys Varsity Soccer team, in a dominant game, defeats the Minneapolis Roosevelt Teddies 9-0. The first goal was scored by Senior Captain Mason Kinkead, his first of the season and his career. Sophomore Eric Lagos proceeded to score an unanswered, first half hat trick. Junior Captain Eli Goldman finishes the game off by scoring five in a row. The game ended in a 9-0 win for the Spartans. This game, against a section opponent, could be a predictor for a later section competition.
The game was the team’s senior night, meaning seniors and their parents were honored during half time. Each senior gave their parents flowers and posed for a photo with a poster of their head. 13 total seniors were honored, ten varsity players, two managers, and one Junior Varsity player.
“It was nice to be honored, and end with a win,” Senior Colin O’Hern said.
