Biden holds drive-in rally in St. Paul four days before election
Trump visits Rochester on same day
Democratic presidential nominee and former Vice President Joe Biden held a drive-in campaign rally at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds Oct 30 in St. Paul. This visit, four days before Election Day, marks Biden’s second stop in Minnesota in six weeks. The former vice president was joined by U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum (D-MN4), Sens. Tina Smith (D-MN) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Governor Tim Walz (D-MN), and other Minnesota politicians.
With less than a week before Election Day, Biden pushed his “Build Back Better” platform. Among other topics, he voiced support for the Affordable Care Act and criticized President Trump’s COVID-19 response. “There is no question Trump’s response to this pandemic has been a disaster,” Biden said.
Biden also voiced support for Rep. Betty McCollum and Sen. Tina Smith, who are both up for re-election on Nov. 3.
Outside the event, Biden supporters watched from the perimeter of the parking lot while Trump supporters followed suit in protest.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump rallied supporters at the Rochester International Airport in southeastern Minnesota.
