The term dirty soda refers to a drink that combines soda, cream, different flavors of syrup and juice to make a unique soda that is truly your own. Dirty sodas are similar in theory to cocktails, however, dirty sodas are non-alcoholic and popular with kids. Sota, the first Dirty Soda shop in Minnesota, just opened. Located in Maple Grove, it can be a bit of a drive for people living within the cities, but it is definitely worth the time.

Sota is specifically located at 3630 Grove Dr, Maple Grove. The store is quite large and there seems to be a constant spectacle surrounding the place, considering that it is the first and only dirty soda shop in the entire state. Located in the suburbs surrounded by endless roads and fast food restaurants, the shop really stands out and is hard to miss.

The interior design of the place is another big appeal. It has the feeling similar to a diner in the 1950s, with bright colors and retro american architecture being staples. The booths are nice and cozy, and the high top chairs serve as great places to talk with others while enjoying drinks.

In terms of what you can get at Sota, the choices are very unique, intriguing and frankly addicting. The different types of sodas you can get are split into 7 different categories. Each category represents a different base for a combination such as Coke, root beer, Fanta and many others. With your base, you then choose the different additions you can put into it. Many of the combinations put together have their own names and are orderable drinks, but you can also make your own completely unique dirty soda. The piña colada soda combination is a popular favorite.

I personally tried the 1979 soda, and it did not disappoint. The 1979 is made with a base of Coke with vanilla flavoring, fresh lime, and cream. A great option and one I would highly recommend when at Sota.

Prices for the sodas are pretty expensive but not absolutely crazy. On average a dirty soda with about two or three additions to the base will cost you around $4 to $6 .The more additions added the higher the price will be.

Check out Sota, for a truly unique experience trying the only dirty soda shop in the entire state of Minnesota.
