Seniors Eva Lutgen and Sydney Quinn Zimmerman have been best friends since they were three years old. After first meeting in a dance class when they were three years old, they would experience many more classes together, from when they were enrolled in the same Kindergarten class to today’s Spanish and Forensics electives.
They have shared countless memories together over the past 15 years of friendship. When they were in 3/4D together they went on fun play dates: “we used to go rollerblading a lot,” said Quinn Zimmerman.
Eva Lutgen also discusses a memory from when she was younger with Sydney, “Sydney and I, when we were probably around the age of 9 or 10, tried to convince everyone we met that we were twins despite her being over 5 inches taller than me and having two different eye colors,” said Lutgen.
Along with rollerblading and tricking their peers they also shared other interests: “we went to horse camp together at Circle R Ranch and it really bloomed our friendship.” said Lutgen.
While they no longer attend horse camps together. some things stay the same, one of those being Halloween. They have dressed up many times together on October 31st: “we went as Tinker and Winnie the Pooh for Halloween one year.” said Quinn Zimmerman. To keep up with tradition this year they went as Dorothy and Glenda from The Wizard of Oz.

Sydney describes how they have stayed friends for so long, “We’d always gone to the same school, except for ninth grade, so we stayed friends and then we kept getting other friends and even when they left, we just stayed friends,” Quinn Zimmerman said.
Eva adds that they have been friends for so long because of how they handle arguments: “After disagreements, Sydney and I stay friends because we understand each other and value our friendship more than any argument.” said Lutgen
As seen on TikTok, “if a friendship lasts more than seven years then [it will] last a lifetime,” said Sydney Quinn Zimmerman. She believes that because their friendship has for over seven years will now last a lifetime.
