Leonard Larson has been playing soccer since he was three and has never stopped since. Below is a ten-question interview on Larson.
Q: What position do you play?
My main position is midfield.
Q: What is your favorite number and why?
My favorite number is the number 19 which I currently wear. I got it about 4 years ago while playing club soccer and I just kept wearing it.
Q: What is your favorite goal that you have scored?
Probably the goal against Saint Thomas Academy during last year’s section tournament, we won the game 1-0 and it was a pretty impressive volley from outside the box which is pretty awesome.
Q: Where do you play soccer?
I play soccer for school and also for Minnesota Thunder Academy.
Q: What got you started playing soccer?
I started playing when I was 3 because my mom signed me up for a soccer camp and I liked playing and then I also enjoyed playing for the YMCA and I have just kept playing.
Q: What is your favorite team?
My favorite team is Brighton Hove Albion, they play in the Premier League in England. They aren’t very good but I started watching them about 4 years ago and now I like the idea of supporting an underdog in the premier league.
Q: What is your best memory from school soccer?
One of my favorite things about school soccer is Camp Friendship where before the season the team goes up to the camp for a couple days and trains and bonds. You really create some special memories there.
Q: What is the biggest tournament you have ever played in?
Last year although my club season did get shortened because of corona my club team competed in a big showcase where there were a lot of division 1 college scouts and so that was pretty big.
Q: How often do you practice?
I normally practice about 1-2 times a day, especially during the high school season.
Q: What are your goals for this season?
My main goal with the section tournament being on is to make it as far as possible during this competition with our team and hopefully win it.
